Paul Norrie, President/ Operations Manager
Paul joined the Mica team during the summer of 2005. With a background as an internationally certified mountain guide, he brings 15 years of guiding experience to Mica,
including heli, cat and ski touring. Despite having skied and climbed in many different countries around the world, “The adventures are just beginning!” he says having
just become a father to a baby boy in May.
Paul's brings to Mica a wealth of knowledge of the industry combined with a passion for customer service that is second to none!

Barbara Rose, Assistant Operations Manager
A former federal policy wonk, Barbara headed to western Canada in 1998 and discovered life beyond a cubicle and re-circulated air. After four years in the Yukon, Barbara now calls
Revelstoke home. “Bob” brings more than 10 years of experience coordinating teams of people in emergency response and the winter mountain community. “You can’t resist the Mica
energy – it’s contagious!” A good day involves the mountains or water and if you’re lucky both. In her free time, you’ll find her exploring either, usually with her two
favorite boys; Clair and Fergus.

Shane Kroeger, Guiding Manager
Having first strapped on skis 26 years ago, he’s been hooked ever since. Coming from a ski racing background, Shane has always had a keen interest in high performance sport.
As a fully trained and certified ACMG Ski Guide, he now spends winters in search of fresh tracks interspersed with some ice climbing. Then when spring rolls around,
“my thoughts quickly change to running steep creeks in a kayak and climbing warm rock”!

Rob Turner, Ski Guide
Rob has been a big part of the Mica family for a number of years now. His ski guiding experience began at Island Lake Lodge, with a move to Mica Heli
as a member of our core guiding team in 2005. In addition to being a fully trained and certified Ski Guide, Rob brings to Mica an insatiable love for both people
and the mountains. When not skiing, he makes Canmore, Alberta home with his wife Shelley.

Ian Tomm, Ski Guide
Ian comes to Mica from a diverse background in the both the avalanche and guiding community. Although the majority of his time is taken up as Operations Manager of the Canadian
Avalanche Association in Revelstoke, B.C., he still finds time to guide at Mica. As a ski guide he has worked in a variety of settings within Canada and also internationally
including the Japan Avalanche Network, New Zealand Mountain Safety Council and the Icelandic Meteorological Organization. These days his favorite moments are spent with
his wife Tammy and daughter Sabine.

Rich Marshall, Ski Guide
Rich grew up in Golden, BC and for the past twenty years has been making a living out of guiding in the Canadian Mountains as a fully certified IFMGA Mountain Guide.
When Rich is not heli guiding, he’s probably out ski mountaineering or ice climbing. Rich also works with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides as an examiner and course instructor.

Darryn Shewchuk, Director of Sales and Marketing
Darryn has 21 years of sales, marketing and advertising experience, combined with a lifelong passion for skiing and snowboarding.
Boundless energy best describes Darryn. “I’ve got the best possible job in the world!”, he says. “What could be better than selling the best skiing on the planet”!

Matthew Callaghan, Chief Pilot / President Arrow Helicopters
Matthew has been with Mica from the start and knows our terrain and mountain flying as well as anyone! In addition to being a Commercial Pilot since 1991
and a rescue pilot for Parks Canada without restriction, Mathew is also the father of four kids, a dog, a snake and a hamster. Always with a smile on his face,
“Have a good one guys!” sums up his love for flying.

Trevor Mitchell, Pilot / Operations Manager Arrow Helicopters
Trevor joined Mica during the fall of 2005. With over 12 years of experience, Trevor’s flying “exudes a sense of safety and confidence,
combined with a great sense of humor and customer service!” Currently living in Cranbrook, he is looking forward to moving to Revelstoke full time with his wife and son later this year.

Val Beard, Office Administration
Val joined the Mica team in October 2006 after 25 years in government as a cartographic technician. A long-time resident of Revelstoke, she has spent over 20 years backpacking
and ski touring in the Selkirk and Rocky Mountains. Val’s knowledge of the area and its history along with her computer and organizational skills are a great addition to the company.
She says the only thing better than working with such an enthusiastic team and helping our guest’s experience the best skiing ever is the time spent with her husband Bill and their Leonberger dogs.

Katie Campbell, Lodge Services Coordinator
Having completed her Master’s Degree in Continental Philosophy at the University of Warwick (England), Katie joined the Mica team in 2006 looking for a change of pace prior to entering her PHD program.
Fortunately for us, the deep powder and friendly faces were enough to entice her back this winter! As Lodge Services Coordinator, Katie will be the point person for ensuring your guest experience
is nothing short of first class!

Nicole Laframboise, Head Chef / Food and Beverage Supervisor
After several seasons with Island Lake Lodge, Nicole made the move to Revelstoke (and Mica!) in 2005. Originally from small town Ontario, Nicole completed her
chef’s training in Toronto and has since gathered a wealth of experience in the restaurant, back country lodge, yacht, and private catering environments.
The snowy peaks of the Canadian Rockies are where she now prefers to let her warm personality shine through in the spontaneity of her cooking!

Karla Painter, Guest Services / Massage
Karla, an avid horse person, comes from a small farm town in Alberta and has been with Mica since the winter of 05/06. When Karla isn’t massaging your aches and pains away she is
working on her combined degree for a Bachelor of Science and Education at the University of Lethbridge. Karla has also picked up the travelling bug, and always has her ears open for
tips on new places to explore.

Jen Krynski, Retail Coordinator / Vice President
Jen grew up in the ski industry at Island Lake Lodge. Formerly a sponsored snowboarder, she is now the mother of two up and coming little snowboarders.
Jen’s role with Mica is diverse, including massage therapy, community relations and coordinating our retail program.

Nikki Norrie, Operations Support
Our former Lodge Manager for the last two years, Nikki is now working full time as mother of Cameron Norrie! “We’ll spend this winter teaching the little guy how to change the hot tub water and drive the snow cat. Then we’ll be back to ski his first powder with his dad (Paul) as our guide!”

Josh Krynski, Managing Director
Originally Mica’s General Manager, Josh has now assumed the role of Managing Director. An avid snowboarder and skier, Josh balances his love for fresh tracks with putting smiles on people’s faces. You’ll either find Josh in the office, or “bending wrenches” behind the scenes.

Dan McDonald, Founding Shareholder
Dan has been operating tours in the backcountry for nearly 20 years. Dan is one of the co-founders and owners of Island Lake Lodge in Fernie, B.C., which became the world's foremost snowcat-skiing destination. After selling his interests in Island Lake in the 90s, was involved in the re-purchased the company in spring 2005, and has merged Island Lake with BC's Mica Heli Skiing.
